PVs on industrial rooftops

PVs on industrial rooftop
Recent legislation governing renewable energy sources gives businesses the possibility to install PV systems on their rooftops. For systems up to 1 Megawatt (1MWp) an energy production license is no longer required, nor an environmental authorisation. Thus, following simplified procedures a venture with guaranteed revenue can be added to existing activities while a number of tax incentives have been implemented.

Interested businesses should acquire the following:
  • offer on connection terms from the Hellenic Transmission System Operator (HTSO)
  • small-scale works' authorisation from City Planning
  • finally, they need to sign the twenty-year power sales agreement with the HTSO
Under current law, the purchase price will be 0,40-0,45€ per kilowatt-hour (kWh) produced, guaranteed for 20 years. For contracts signed after August 2010, the price will be reduced every semester by approximately 0.5%.
